The Plan
“Allison, I can’t believe the judge actually granted the house to Asher and you didn’t even receive half of the value!” Nora pointed out.
“Well, that’s what happens when he has the money to spend on the best attorney in town,” Allison said with a brittle voice.
“What are you going to do now?”
“I’m going to clean the house for him since he is putting it up for sale, now that I have received a scant amount for my share.”
“What? Why would you do that?”
“I have a plan,” Allison said quietly.
“Allison! You’re not thinking of destroying the inside of the house are you?”
“Of course not. He doesn’t live in it anymore, he’s just selling it.”
“But, you are not getting any more money from him.”
“No, but time is on my side now, and I intend to use it to my advantage. I’m a patient person.”
Allison cleaned Asher’s house and he paid her a very small amount for all of her hard work, and put the house up for sale, then left town on an extended vacation.
The house was in perfect condition, but people found it to have an unusual odor and they would not consider buying it.
So, Asher lowered the price to a ridiculous amount just to get rid of it. He was too busy having fun in France with his new girlfriend.
Allison bought the house anonymously and moved in right away. She promptly removed the foul-smelling chemicals from the air condition vents and from under the stairs!
